Appointment statuses

What booked, confirmed, checked in, completed, canceled, and no-show mean.

Every appointment moves through a simple set of statuses. Open any appointment on the Today tab to see its status and the actions available.

The statuses

  • Booked — the appointment exists on your calendar. This is where new bookings start.
  • Confirmed — you've confirmed the client is coming. Tap Confirm on the appointment.
  • Checked in — the client has arrived. Tap Check In when they're in the chair.
  • Completed — the appointment is done and paid. Completion happens through checkout — when you take payment, the appointment is marked completed automatically. There's no separate "mark as completed" button, and that's deliberate: it keeps your revenue records matched to your appointment history.
  • Canceled — canceled by you (with a reason) or by the client. See Cancel and no-show.
  • No-show — the client didn't turn up. Available once the appointment's start time has passed.

Why it matters

  • Statuses drive your day: at a glance on Today you can see who's confirmed, who's arrived, and who still needs to be checked out.
  • Only completed (checked-out) appointments count in your revenue — see Getting paid.
  • Clients with reminder notifications enabled get messages tied to their upcoming appointment regardless of confirm status; confirming is for your own tracking.
